May 31 - Fossil Dig and Hike - Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
Have you ever wondered why we’re called Fossil Rim Wildlife Center? After a brief introduction to fossils, so that you will know what you’re looking for, we’ll head off to one of our fossil pits and dig in! You’ll be able to keep at least a couple of the fossils that you find. After the dig, we’ll take you on a guided tour through the Game Preserve, where the giraffes and zebras live. All ages welcome. Meets at the Eco Center. Cost is $20 per person. 10% discount for members. We will be hiking to and from the fossil pit area. A free outdoor art event at Barnard's Mill & Art Museum with Texas artists painting under the giant oaks at the Mill. Featured mediums will include oils, watercolor, pen and ink, glass art, metal stone and more. June 7 - Family Fun Day: "National Trails Day" - Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
Special activities will be available at Fossil Rim’s Overlook and/or Visitor Center. Activities may include crafts, touch tables, games, animal displays, guided hikes, and other hands-on fun for the whole family. June 7 - Circus China
Troupe of Chinese acrobats performing at the Texas Amphitheatre. This group came to the United States to perform but became stranded in Dallas. June 8 - Rockin' with the Rhinos
Fossil Rim Wildlife Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come learn about Fossil Rim’s black rhinoceros and white rhinoceros and what’s being done around the world to help these endangered animals. Participate in rockin’ rhino activities and go on a guided tour for an encounter with Fossil Rim’s crash of rhinos that you’ll never forget. Recommended for ages 5-9. Meets at the Eco Center. June 14 - Ride the Rim at Fossil Rim
Where in the world can you ride your mountain bike to within 5 feet of a 2000 pound black rhino and have your picture taken with a wolf hiding in the bushes safely? Fossil Rim's Ride the Rim Mountain Bike Tours, that's where. Plus, what a great way to get in shape, get out of the city, and get close to your family and friends. It's a blast and everyone should do it. And everyone CAN do it. There are several tour options for whatever your skill level. June 14 - Father's Day Sunset Safari Dinner & Tour
Show Dad how much you care at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center - Enjoy dinner in the glassed-in pavilion at the Foothills Safari Camp and listen to a special guest speaker talk about these elusive endangered animals and Fossil Rim’s effort for their conservation for future generations. After dessert, board an open-air vehicle to take Dad for a Wild sunset ride through the Wildlife Center. Cost: $95 per adult and $55 per child ages 3-11 excluding tax and gratuity. Includes dinner, a guided tour in an open-air vehicle and a special gift to honor Dad.
