Glen
Rose, TX - June 22, 2006 - The Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites (www.dinosaurvalleyinn.com)
is a shining example of the new Best Western hotels being built
throughout the nation. The hotel offers not only a great place to
stay, but also a great place to enjoy.Located about 50 miles southwest
of Fort Worth, TX in the rural town of Glen Rose (2004 Dream Town
USA), the Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites plays up the dinosaur theme
which makes the town famous, while mirroring the laid back country
attitude of the community. Upon first look at the hotel from Hwy
67, passers by are drawn to the "hill country style" design.
With
its rock facades, wrap around porch and metal roof, the 54-room
hotel has an obvious country inn appeal. The lobby continues the
country theme by featuring stained wood paneled walls, pillars and
railings. The oversized leather and animal print furniture also
creates a comfortable and inviting sitting area in the lobby. The
décor present in the lobby and throughout the hotel reflect
the heritage and history of Glen Rose. The dinosaur fossil and artifact
exhibits and dinosaur art gallery are tributes to the town's notoriety
as the "Dinosaur Capitol of Texas". Recently, famed western
artist Stylle Read painted three murals on the interior walls of
the hotel. Each mural, while different, offers a glimpse into the
rich history of Glen Rose and is an obvious source of conversation.
Children staying at the hotel are also invited to leave their artistic
mark. Coloring booklets are made available at no charge. Children
are urged to submit their colorings for addition to the children's
art wall in the snack area.
Another
area where the hotel distinguishes itself from most is its outdoors
amenities. In the summer months the hotel's pool area is teeming
with guests. The area features a 15-person hot tub and kiddie pool,
both covered by a wooden pergola that is lined with cool fog misters
to keep the temperature pleasant and to keep direct sunlight off
the children. Also in the pool area is a large adult sized swimming
pool that is surrounded by BBQ grills for the guests use. The pool
is heated, making it available to guests year around. Both pool
and spa areas are surrounded by coolcrete flooring, making barefoot
walking in summer easier.
One
last feature that is highly unique is the relaxing water garden.
This outdoor oasis is stocked with Japanese Koi fish and is complete
with a trickling waterfall and various types of aquatic plants like
blooming water lilies, providing a perfect place for evening relaxation.Back
inside, guests are treated to 24-hour beverage service for juices,
tea and coffee. Every evening, complimentary snacks are made available
consisting of navy beans and ham, red beans and rice, nachos with
chili and popcorn. But probably the most special part of a stay
at this hotel is its complimentary breakfast, or as the hotel calls
it "Texas-sized deluxe continental breakfast". This breakfast
buffet is full of traditional favorites like biscuits and gravy,
Belgian waffles, oatmeal, cereal, French toast, fresh fruit, juices,
coffee and cappuccino, with special "to-go" breakfasts
available for guests unable to stay for normal breakfast hours.
The rooms themselves are also a cut above the normal.
Each room is tastefully appointed with rustic country themed furnishings
and amenities like a refrigerator, shoe polisher, iron, hair dryer,
microwave, in-room coffee service and high speed Internet connection.
A special in-room service, unique to the hotel, is the live audio/video
feed from the Somervell County Expo center located across the parking
lot. Guests can keep a constant watch on live activites taking place
at the Expo Center, which proves invaluable for those guests participating
in events next door.
Throughout
it's nearly 6 years in existence, the Best Western Dinosaur Valley
Inn and Suites has not become complacent about its success and always
keeps the guests in mind. The constant attention to detail and hospitable
staff has garnered the hotel several awards including 2 Best of
the Best Awards from Best Western International (most recently in
October 2005), placing it in the top 1% of all Best Western hotels.
They have also received several Chairman's Awards, which are given
when a hotel receives a perfect score on their semi-annual quality
assurance evaluation. The hotel earned another one of these awards
in February of this year. Additionally, the hotel has a 3 diamond
rating from AAA and has earned respect on the Internet from top
travel websites who have the hotel ranked as the #1 hotel in the
area with numerous guest reviews justifying the ranking.
