Fossil hunting has become a steadily growing hobby for many tourist that visit Glen Rose each year. With the abundance of fossils throught the country side and river banks of Glen Rose, state and federal laws have been passed to protect these artifacts. To get to Fossilhill from the DFW area, find your way to downtown, Glen Rose, Texas take State Hwy 144 South from Glen Rose, towards Walnut Springs. Approximately five miles south of Glen Rose, you will see these hills or "knobs" to the right, look for County Rd. 2019 to the right, enter this road and it will dead in at the gate to Fossilhill.

If you are coming from Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, find State Highway 6 north to Meridian, Texas, take State Higway 144 North to Glen Rose, Texas. Approximately 5 miles north of one of many small towns in Texas, Walnut Springs, take a left on to County Road 2019 and Fossilhill will be at the dead end.
